Overview
The Optimax is the Moduflex floor machine for small animal rebreathing work, and the first decision when ordering it is the absorber. One build pairs a standard CO2 absorber with a Y patient circuit; the other pairs a coaxial absorber with a coaxial circuit. Both builds put the fresh gas outlet at the front of the machine on a quick-connect fitting, so moving to the optional Bain adaptor or another circuit happens right at the front panel.
Oxygen is set on a 0.1 to 4 LPM flowmeter that reads from a rotating float against a large scale. The vaporizer seats on a SELECTATEC-compatible manifold that works with vaporizer interlocks, and the machine carries both circuit and line pressure gauges. A condensation trap under the soda lime, a recessed flush valve, a pop-off valve that can be closed momentarily, a monitor shelf, and a 2.5 meter DISS oxygen supply hose round out the standard build.
The Optimax is one of several Moduflex platforms in our veterinary anesthesia machine range, and a wall-mount configuration is available for rooms where floor space is limited.

The standard 0.1 to 4 LPM oxygen flowmeter can be joined by up to two more for oxygen, air, N2O, or CO2. A 0 to 1 LPM oxygen tube is also offered.
Pressure at a glance
Circuit and line pressure gauges, a recessed flush valve, and a momentary-close pop-off valve come standard.
MRI Conditional version
Several components are replaced with non-magnetic parts for use where the field at the machine is 1 Tesla (10,000 Gauss) or lower.
