Overview
The Infinium Equine Anesthesia Machine is a cart-based workstation for equine and other large-animal surgical suites that need mechanical ventilation on the same platform as anesthesia delivery. A reconfigured Dräger AVE ventilator supports spontaneous breathing or controlled ventilation. Large air passageways are designed for high flow with low resistance. Tandem directional valves keep unidirectional flow with low resistance through the circuit.
A 50 LPM oxygen flush provides rapid oxygenation. The frame is balanced and topple-proof, with flared caster mounts for stability on large-animal OR floors. The platform mounts a large-animal absorber and an optional foal absorber when workflow calls for smaller patients without a second machine. Dräger vaporizers are pressure-protected; isoflurane and sevoflurane vaporizers are available, configured separately. Dual Selectatec-compatible vaporizer mounts support dual-agent setups when configured (vaporizers not included in the base machine). Dual precision oxygen and nitrous oxide flowmeters (0.2–5 LPM each) and pin-indexed cylinder yokes round out the gas path. The ventilator design can use room air, reducing oxygen consumption versus oxygen-only drive models. Standard breathing circuit class is 2-inch hose with a patient wye and a 15-liter rebreathing bag.
