Overview
For practices that want mechanical ventilation without a separate ventilator and drive-gas line, the Veta 5 builds a turbine-powered ventilator into the anesthesia workstation. The bellows sit inside the breathing system, which removes the external ventilator hoses, and Mindray rates the platform for animals under 200 lb.
Ventilation is set on an 8-inch touch screen with waveform display. Intelligent volume-support mode, breathing synchronization triggers, and weight-based smart presets let the team start each case from the patient's weight, and the ventilator handles tidal volumes down to 5 mL. Oxygen and nitrous oxide each have their own flowmeter, and agent comes from an integrated vaporizer. Startup runs an automatic system leak test, and the machine reminds staff when the waste-gas canister is due for replacement. Apnea detection, pressure gauges, relief valves, and an oxygen flush are standard, with sidestream EtCO2 as an option.
