Overview
The Mindray Veta 5Plus is a Veta series veterinary anesthesia machine with a ventilator driven electronically by a high-performance turbine, so it needs no drive gas. Ventilation is set and reviewed on an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen.
Its VS+ mode builds on the classic VS mode. VS+ continuously tracks the patient's EtCO2 against a target and corrects it by adjusting mechanical ventilation parameters, with adjustments synchronized to real-time data. Mindray directs users to read the user manual before using VS+ and to keep monitoring anesthetic depth and patient condition throughout.
The Veta 5Plus reads EtCO2 directly from a connected patient monitor, so VS+ can run without adding an EtCO2 module to the machine. Classic VS adds breathing synchronization, weight-based presets, and automatic backup ventilation, and an inspiration hold function keeps breathing motion out of CT imaging and surgery.
Key Features
VS+ target EtCO2 control
Continuously tracks EtCO2 and corrects it by adjusting mechanical ventilation parameters as the data changes.
Monitor data link
Reads EtCO2 directly from a connected patient monitor and applies the VS+ ventilation strategy.
Breathing synchronization
An intelligent trigger in VS mode helps reduce respiratory resistance.
Smart presets
Enter the patient weight and mechanical ventilation parameters adjust automatically.
Backup ventilation
Automatic backup ventilation helps prevent hypoventilation.
No drive gas
A high-performance turbine drives the ventilator electronically, with no drive gas required.
VS+ and monitor connection
EtCO2 from the monitor drives VS+
The Veta 5Plus reads the patient's EtCO2 directly from a connected Mindray patient monitor, such as the uMEC12 Vet or ePM 12M Vet, and applies the VS+ ventilation strategy without a separate EtCO2 module on the machine.
Touchscreen and startup
An 8-inch capacitive touchscreen
The touchscreen shows ventilation waveforms and settings. The startup system check walks staff through leak testing with on-screen diagrams, and the automatic leak test starts with one click.
Inspiration hold extends the inspiratory phase to prevent respiratory motion interference during CT imaging and surgery, with a configurable start delay and hold duration.
Veterinary Applications
The Veta 5Plus suits veterinary practices that want ventilation built into the anesthesia machine and EtCO2-guided support from their patient monitor.
- Inhalant anesthesia for surgery
- Mechanical ventilation without drive gas
- EtCO2-guided ventilation with VS+
- Breath holds for CT imaging
- Weight-based ventilation setup
- Practices with Mindray patient monitors
