Overview

The Mindray WATO A7 is a veterinary anesthesia system built around a high-performance turbine ventilator, so it needs no high-pressure driving gas. A built-in air pump delivers medical-grade fresh gas and runs at under 45 dB.

The 18.5-inch capacitive main screen runs at 1920 x 1080, and a 5.5-inch color status screen shows tidal volume, airway pressure, and gas supply pressure. Minimum tidal volume is 5 mL in all volume modes, and the ACGO is pressure monitored.

Staff enter the animal's weight and the WATO A7 sets ventilator parameters to match, with alarm limits that adapt to the patient's size. The AnaePilot platform links the system to infusion pumps and monitors, and VetiNet CMS records anesthesia data for a printable electronic anesthesia record.

Key Features

Turbine-driven ventilator

A high-performance turbine drives ventilation, so the system runs without high-pressure driving gas.

Electronic flowmeters

A digital gas mixer with clear high-flow and low-flow displays, plus Optimizer fresh gas flow recommendations.

Weight-based setup

Enter the animal's weight and ventilator settings are set to match, with alarm limits that adapt to patient size.

Visible lung recruitment

Stepwise PEEP recruitment with up to 5 preset procedures, up to 7 steps each, custom labels, and outcome tools.

Respiratory mechanics

Driving pressure and mechanical power monitoring, spirometry, and inspiratory and expiratory holds that save the last 4 results.

Perioperative checklist

A customizable end-to-end checklist guides inspection and preparation, and Flow Pause holds gas and ventilation during brief disconnections.

Main screen and status screen

An 18.5-inch main screen and a 5.5-inch status screen

The capacitive main screen shows ventilation settings, waveforms, and spirometry, with custom screen layouts, profiles, and settings. The color status screen keeps tidal volume, airway pressure, and gas supply pressure in view.

Respiratory rate monitoring picks the most reliable signal automatically to cut false alarms.

Flip-up worktable and cart

A flip-up worktable on the side of the cart

The side worktable flips up for extra work surface at the anesthesia station.

The cart also has cable management, a rotatable main screen, an integrated heated breathing system, and a modular design.

Integration and workspace

  • AnaePilot connection to infusion pumps and patient monitors
  • VetiNet CMS for monitoring several cases from one station
  • Printable electronic anesthesia record
  • Integrated heated breathing system
  • Flip-up worktable and cable management
  • Modular design

Veterinary Applications

The WATO A7 suits veterinary hospitals that want ventilation without high-pressure driving gas and anesthesia data shared across devices.

  • Inhalant anesthesia for surgery
  • Ventilation of very small patients from 5 mL
  • Lung recruitment during anesthesia
  • APRV and pressure support ventilation
  • Low-flow anesthesia with Optimizer
  • Central anesthesia records with VetiNet CMS
