Overview
The Mindray Vetus EQ is a portable color Doppler ultrasound built for equine work. The ZST+ platform acquires echo data zone by zone rather than line by line, and the main unit weighs about 7.7 lb (3.5 kg) with battery at 1.7 in (44 mm) thick.
Equine presets cover MSK, abdomen, cardiac, and reproduction, and iWorks runs equine-specific exam protocols. Matching transducers include the L13-3Ns linear for tendons, the C5-1s convex for the equine abdomen, the P4-2s phased array for cardiology, and the 6LE5Vs intrarectal linear for reproduction.
For barn and field calls, the sealed touchpad and control panel keep out hair and resist harsh cleaning agents, the iCover set protects against dust, splashes, and drops, and a fitted backpack carries the system, transducers, and gel. The U-Bank extends scanning to up to 8 hours.
Key Features
Sealed touch controls
A sealed touchpad and touchscreen keep out animal hair and stand up to harsh cleaning agents.
Equine presets and iWorks
Presets for equine MSK, abdomen, cardiac, and reproduction, with equine-specific iWorks protocols.
iScape for tendons
Panoramic iScape images measure tendon length; tendon cross-section measurements are built in for forelimb and hindlimb.
iNeedle+
Optional needle visualization for injection, aspiration, and biopsy on linear and convex transducers.
U-Bank power
Optional 2- or 4-battery U-Bank for up to 8 hours of continuous scanning.
iCover and backpack
Protective cover set against dust, dirt, splashes, and drops, plus a backpack with pockets for transducers and gel.
Portable for field work
A 7.7 lb (3.5 kg) unit with a carry handle
The main unit weighs 7.7 lb (3.5 kg) with battery, is 1.7 in (44 mm) thick, and has a built-in handle. The iCover set shields it from dust, dirt, and splashes and protects it from accidental drops and knocks.
The backpack has inner pockets for transducers, adapter modules, and coupling gel, and the U-Bank adds up to 8 hours of scanning away from an outlet.
Equine transducers
Convex, linear, phased array, and intrarectal transducers
L13-3Ns (3 to 13 MHz) for tendons and MSK, C5-1s (1.2 to 6 MHz) for the abdomen, P4-2s (1.5 to 4.5 MHz) for cardiology, and 6LE5Vs (3 to 11.5 MHz) intrarectal for reproduction.
The main unit has one transducer port, and the optional dual-probe extension module provides 2 ports.
