Overview
The Mindray Vetus 9 is a cart-based veterinary ultrasound system built on the ZST+ platform. ZST+ acquires echo data zone by zone instead of line by line, focuses each pixel across the full field of view, and stores the complete raw channel data set, so imaging parameters can still be changed on stored images.
For abdominal work, UWN+ contrast imaging uses both second harmonic and non-linear fundamental signals for longer agent duration at a lower MI, and Sound Touch Elastography adds real-time 2D shear wave stiffness measurement. For cardiology, TDI QA analyzes up to 8 myocardial regions at once, TT QA tracks myocardial motion independent of angle, and Auto EF finds diastolic and systolic frames on its own.
The operator works from a 23.8-inch bezel-less monitor, a 15.6-inch full HD touchscreen, and the iConsole panel, whose six E-ink keys change layout with the exam type. The system runs at 26 dB or less, boots in under 30 seconds, and folds down to about 3.3 ft (1 m) for moving between rooms.
Key Features
ZST+ zone imaging
Zone acquisition, dynamic pixel focusing, and full raw data storage, with B-mode frame rates up to 1701 f/s.
UWN+ contrast imaging
Detects second harmonic and non-linear fundamental signals, with contrast QA and left ventricular opacification (LVO).
Shear wave elastography
Sound Touch Elastography and STQ give real-time 2D shear wave stiffness readings; Natural Touch strain elastography is also available.
Cardiac quantification
TDI QA with up to 8 ROI, angle-independent TT QA, Auto EF, Smart VTI, and stress echo on the phased array transducers.
iConsole control panel
Six programmable E-ink keys change layout for abdominal, cardiac, small parts, and MSK exams and keep their labels with the power off.
5 active transducer ports
Hot-plug ports with indicator lights and dust covers, plus 7 holders including one for a hockey-stick transducer.
Monitor, touchscreen, and iConsole
A 23.8-inch monitor over a 15.6-inch touchscreen
The 1920 x 1080 monitor adjusts its brightness to the room. The 15.6-inch touchscreen works with gloves, supports two-finger gestures, and keeps the last-used transducers and exams one tap away.
The control panel floats left, right, up, and down and locks in any position, and the iConsole E-ink keys relabel themselves for each exam type.
Exam protocols and transducers
iWorks protocols across 5 transducer ports
iWorks steps through each exam protocol with the view list on screen, adding annotations, body marks, and measurements as it goes. iScanHelper shows reference images and transducer positions, and iVocal takes voice commands.
Supported transducers include the SC6-1s and C11-3s curved arrays, the L13-3Ns, L14-3Ws, L16-4Hs, and L20-5s linear arrays, and the SP5-1s, P8-2s, P10-4s, and P12-4s phased arrays.
