Overview
The LabLife V1 is a compact anesthesia machine for small animal research: mice and rats in university labs, vivariums, and contract research facilities. The machine is integrated and ready to use out of the box, with no assembly, and measures 10.0 x 13.4 x 12.9 in (255 x 340 x 327 mm, W x D x H) at 26.5 lb or less.
A V60 vaporizer with automatic flow, temperature, and pressure compensation delivers isoflurane from 0 to 6 vol% or sevoflurane from 0 to 8 vol%. Fresh gas runs to a pull-out induction chamber or to rodent masks on a procedure board, and the operator toggles between the two without changing hoses. The O2 flush clears residual agent from the induction chamber into an activated carbon waste gas filter canister, which limits staff exposure at the bench.
Two-channel and five-channel flowmeter options split oxygen across procedure stations at 0 to 1 L/min per tube, and the machine is compatible with standard laboratory cleaning and disinfection protocols.
No built-in ventilator. For standalone options, see our Anesthesia Ventilators.
Key Features
Integrated, no assembly
The machine ships as one integrated unit, ready to use out of the box.
V60 vaporizer
Automatic flow, temperature, and pressure compensation, with accuracy of ±0.25 vol% or ±20% of set value.
Chamber to mask, same hoses
Toggle fresh gas between the induction chamber and the mask without changing hoses.
Sealed pull-out chamber
The induction chamber is fully sealed and leak-proof, and the O2 flush sends residual gas to the filter canister.
Activated carbon canister
The waste gas filter canister absorbs anesthetic gas up to a 200 g saturation weight.
Low dead space rodent masks
An angled gas inlet fits the rostral anatomy of rats and mice, and an o-ring seal reduces leak risk.
Induction and Waste Gas
Animals are induced in a 5 L rat chamber or a 1.5 L mouse chamber, each with two gas interfaces. When induction is complete, the O2 flush moves residual anesthetic from the chamber to the waste gas filter canister before the chamber is opened.
Mask Work on the Procedure Board
The single rodent procedure board holds one mask with 12 screws. The 5-station board has five mask interfaces, and a 2-channel or 5-channel O2 glass tube flowmeter sets flow at each station from 0 to 1 L/min.
Veterinary Applications
Mouse and rat anesthesia in research settings, with chamber induction followed by mask maintenance:
- University and medical school research labs
- Vivarium procedure rooms
- Contract research organizations
- Multi-animal sessions on the 5-station board
