Overview
The Mindray uMED20 Vet combines manual biphasic defibrillation, non-invasive pacing, and monitoring in one unit for veterinary emergency care. With QShock technology, the full sequence from power-on through charging to ECG recovery takes under 7.5 seconds.
The panel follows clear 1-2-3 steps with color-coded buttons. The integrated external paddles have their own energy select, charge, and shock buttons for single-operator use, and they work on both large and small patients.
Impedance compensation adjusts peak current and discharge cycles automatically. Animal contact indicators on the screen and paddles help staff improve paddle position or choose energy. Daily and weekly power-off self-tests, including an energy delivery test, keep the unit ready between uses.
Key Features
QShock timing
Power-on in under 2 s, charge to 200 J in under 2.5 s, and ECG recovery in under 3 s.
Biphasic waveform
Biphasic truncated exponential shocks with impedance compensation. Mindray cites lower skin burn risk and less myocardial injury.
Single-operator paddles
Energy select, charge, and shock buttons on the integrated external paddles, which work on large and small patients.
Animal contact indication
Colored indicators on the main screen and paddles show contact quality and impedance suitability.
Non-invasive pacing
Demand and fixed-rate pacing for life-threatening bradyarrhythmias, during resuscitation or surgery.
Auto-tests and battery
Daily and weekly power-off tests, a power-on test, and a maintenance-free battery rated for 300 or more shocks at 200 J.
1-2-3 panel
Energy, charge, shock
The defibrillation controls are grouped and numbered 1, 2, and 3 with color-coded buttons. The 7-inch color TFT display shows ECG and respiration, and a 2 in (50 mm) thermal recorder prints strips.
External paddles
Controls on the paddles
The integrated external paddles carry energy select, charge, and shock buttons and show animal contact status for single-operator use.
